Local division one Tatts winner found

Maryborough newsXpressʼ Stacie Solomano, Donna Kelsall and Cheryle Forster celebrated yet another division one winning ticket being sold at the local store.

Maryborough’s mystery division one TattsLotto winner has been found, realising he’d won $410,000 in the weekend’s draw after reading about it in the paper on Tuesday.

The man is one of 12 division one winners nationally in Saturday’s $4.9 million draw and TattsLotto officials had been unsuccessfully trying to reach him since the draw.

Although the man’s entry was registered to a Tatts Card, his contact details were out of date but speaking with TattsLotto officials on Wednesday, the lucky local confessed he was still reeling from his late-night discovery on Tuesday.

“I found out last night. It was late and I was just relaxing, reading the paper, and I checked the Lotto numbers,” he said on Wednesday.

“The numbers I use are marked numbers, they’re birthdays, so I knew straight away that they were my numbers.

“It was a nice surprise. Winning anything is good, but this is great.”

No doubt beside himself after realising his good fortunes, the man’s first thought was his family and the day ahead at work.

“We called the kids and told them straight away. Everyone was very excited,” he said.
