After residents raised concerns over the dropping level of the Goldfields Reservoir, water is now flowing into the local resource thanks to a new partnership.
The Central Goldfields Shire and Central Highlands Water (CHW) have partnered together to restore the reservoir to its former glory and to ease any concern that local residents may have about its future.
The water is being pumped from the CHW available groundwater resources and is being released to a channel that flows into the reservoir.
CHW managing director Paul O’Donohue said both council and Central Highlands Water will continue to investigate new sustainable methods of inflow for the reservoir.
“We will continue to work closely with Central Goldfields Shire Council in a sustainable way to provide long term recreational and amenity benefits to the users of the Goldfields Reservoir, which is a community asset,” he said.
