Maryborough’s Lachlan Bond and Aidan Hare selected into Pioneers squad

Maryborough Football Netball Clubʼs Lachlan Bond and Aidan Hare have both made Bendigo Pioneers selection for the 2020 NAB League season. Strangely enough, the pair of Pies both have experience in the side from their under 16s days and both made selection off the back of injury-riddled 2019 seasons which saw them out for a majority of last year.

A pair of Magpies will pull on a Bendigo Pioneers kit this season with Maryborough’s Lachlan Bond and Aidan Hare both making final selection for the 2020 18 and under squad.

The Maryborough Football Netball Club products made the final cut for the representative side last month and both have had a very similar journey to selection.

In the absence of a local Bendigo FNL under 18s side, the duo have played senior football with Mary- borough for a few years now and both suffered serious injuries last year which derailed their individual 2019 campaigns.

Bond made the Pioneers’ list in 2019, but broke his foot which saw him out of the game until August while Hare didn’t make the final cut and then unfortunately went on to spoil his senior footy season by dislocating his shoulder just three games in.

The pair are both now fully healed and Hare said he is “really proud” to have made the final cut last month after all that happened last season.
