The Maryborough Golf Club has shut up shop for the foreseeable future, but the course itself is still in the green.
Competition golf has been called off at the Maryborough Golf Club with the clubhouse, bistro and gaming area now closed due to restrictions on non-essential services to help combat the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
Indoor sporting venues, dine-in restaurants and entertainment facilities are all classified as non- essential and were ordered to close from Monday.
While the building itself is shut, the Maryborough course is still currently fair game for local solo hitters.
Social play is permitted, granted that there is only one person per golf cart and social distancing rules are strictly followed.
There will be no rakes, sand buckets, or flags supplied and golfers are asked to treat the course with respect.
It is important to note as the club building is closed, there are no toilet facilities.
