Laanecoorie puts up massive run total in day one of MKM clash

Laanecoorieʼs Chris Lee turns the ball to the leg side during his teamʼs clash with MKM on Saturday.

Undefeated Laanecoorie Dunolly wasted no time on day one to drum up one hell of a total against MKM, putting the Mill on a 323-run chase this weekend.

Laane won the toss and elected to do what they do best first, heading out onto Deledio Oval with the Willow in tow.

Nathan Dellavedova was sent packing almost instantly however, with Jaxon Smyth claiming his first wicket for no score at all.

Opener Liam Mottram soldiered on, joining with Zac Polinelli for 31 runs before opposition skipper Aaron Westbrook claimed Polinelli (9) with the help of Liam Radlof.

Mottram was the next to fall, bowled by Chris Freeman to leave Laane at 3/78, putting MKM in good spirits during what they knew would be a tough game.

The MKM party was largely over at this point however, with Laane then excelling quickly from their 3/78 point to 4/198 after a 120-run partnership between Zac Graham and Matt Smith.

Smith was bowled by Joel Radlof with 78 runs to his name, making way for Nathan Leist to step up alongside Graham.
