MDCA comprehensively defeats Grampians in Kenmac Shield match

Sam Bartlett adds four runs onto his high score of 98.

The Maryborough District Cricket Association (MDCA) bowled over its Kenmac Shield opponents on Sunday with a comprehensive 147-run flogging.

The best of the Grampians Cricket Association made their way to Carisbrook Recreation Reserve on Sunday morning in round two of the Kenmac Shield’s division two competition.

After toppling Grenville in round one last month, the Grampians were on the hunt for their second win of the shield competition and looked in good spirits against a side yet to make its representative debut this season.

The MDCA postponed its December Kenmac game with Castlemaine due to player unavailability and will instead play that game later this month during Country Week.

There was a star studded line-up on show on Sunday with the MDCA’s highest runscorer, highest wicket taker, the reigning Ken Gibbs medalist and several premiership players among the 12- man strong list.
