Mammoth effort needed from Crows

Despite a 6/272 showing from Clunes at the weekend, the worst isn’t over for Beaufort yet.

The Crows have struggled with the bat at the best of times, but having to come up against the likes of Sam Williams and Ash Gunn this weekend is less than ideal.

Gunn has been unstoppable for Clunes this season, taking at least one wicket in each game and as many as seven back in round eight.

Gunn leads the league in wickets with 18 in eight games, earning him an economy rate of 2.35.

Williams has also continued great form with the Magpies, taking 11 wickets this season including three separate three-wicket performances.

Williams also heads into the game after an outrageous 9/14 spell in representative cricket on Sunday, helping the Maryborough District Cricket Association to a 147-run flogging of a visiting Grampians league squad.
