Laanecoorie Dunolly dominates Clunes in top of the table clash

Laanecoorie Dunollyʼs Zac Polinelli was upset about missing a shot as the keeper tried for a stumping during Laaneʼs weekend clash with Clunes.

After an extremely successful 2019-20 season Laanecoorie Dunolly remained true to form on Saturday, outperforming opponent and top of the ladder contender Clunes in every sense of the word during day one of play.

There was plenty of anticipation heading into the round 11 clash as the sides sit tied with 45 premiership points each on the two- day ladder.

The Magpies, who like their opponent have been undefeated so far in two-day cricket, took to the crease first at the weekend with some confidence they could take it up to the one-day premiers, who came very close to being toppled by the much lower ranked Avoca in round 10.

But Laanecoorie was having none of it, burning through every one of Clunes’ batsmen in just 29.5 overs.

Ashley Gunn and Mark Jenkin opened the batting for Clunes but were dismissed after making just three and 16 runs apiece.
