Police are investigating after a driver died in a fiery car accident in Mount Cameron last week.
The incident occurred on the Clunes-Mount Cameron Road, around 20 kilometres from Maryborough, at approximately 8.20 pm on Thursday.
According to Victoria Police, the driver lost control of the car which left the road, went through a fence and caught fire.
Emergency services arrived at the scene but were unable to save the driver.
Police confirmed the investigation into the cause of the crash and identity of the driver remains ongoing.
At the time of the incident, the fatality saw the provisional number of lives lost on Victorian roads in 2020 rise to 12, already higher than the seven lives lost at the same time last year.
