Despite batting twice, Beaufort still went down to the enormous tune of 204 runs to Clunes at the weekend.
The Magpies batted well on day one, declaring at the end of 70 overs with a score of 6/272 and setting the bar exceptionally high for their much lower ranked opponents.
Beaufort started their reply last week, sitting on three runs at the end of five overs when stumps were pulled.
Things collapsed very quickly for the Crows at Bull Millgate on Saturday, with their first six wickets claimed for just 24 runs combined.
Ricky Henricksen and Will Sargent almost doubled Beaufort’s entire score with a 23-run partnership, only to be cut short with Henricksen’s (18) dismissal.
Sargent (9), Zac McLeod (9), Cam McLeod and Dan Quixley (1) couldn’t evade the Pies, leaving the side all out for just 68 runs.
Ash Gunn was at his usual best, taking a massive 5/38 while Sam Williams took 3/26. Clunes captain Aidan Thompson also got among the wicket taking, with 1/3 in just 2.5 overs.
With such a lowly score of 68 in 35.5 overs, Clunes knew it’d be in no trouble if it extended a second innings to Beaufort with the bat.
