The Maryborough and District Triathlon Club conducted the second of its traditional triathlons for the 2019/20 championship season last month.

The event involved a short and long course, with the swim being conducted in the 25 metre indoor pool at the Maryborough Sports and Leisure centre, the cycle leg on the Majorca Road / Craigie / Carisbrook course, and the run around the east Maryborough circuit.

The short course involved a 200 metre swim, four kilometre ride, and two kilometre run, and the long course a 400 metre swim, 20 kilometre ride, and four kilometre run.

In the open male long course it was Adam Lowery who excelled posting the quickest individual time on the day of 70:55 to take line honours in this category.

Lauren Barker also found the course to her liking producing the long course run of the day to post the winning time of 73:12 in the open female long course.

Emily Ryan also produced an outstanding three discipline performance to set a new course record in the 50+ female long course with a time of 77:01.

The next triathlon event will be held on December 8 with registration at 9 am for a 9.30 am start from the Maryborough Outdoor Pool.
