The Creswick Imperials claimed the most important A reserve win of the round, defeating Colts Phelans by nine wickets and establishing dominance just three weeks out from the season decider.
Colts elected to bat first on their home turf on Saturday, sending in Peter Egan and Robert Tatchell to kick things off.
Egan (4) was claimed quickly, bowled LBW by Bryce Antonio, making way for Colts saviour Jibb Iglesias.
Tatchell (21), alongside Iglesias saw 62 runs before he was claimed by Matt Antonio, leaving Colts at a solid 2/66.
Dean Walker (1), Adam Balzan (2) and Grant Rogers (1) all made minimal contributions alongside Iglesias, before falling victim to Creswick’s bowling.
Chris Watts (4) was able to help the side into triple figures before he was bowled by Matt Antonio, leaving Ben Latch to pick up the bat.
Latch and Iglesias partnered for 19 runs before Latch (10) became the second of David Wright’s victims for the day.
Iglesias’ run finally came to an end, bowled by Jason Jones after a 68-run performance, marking Creswick’s eighth and final wicket.
