Neither Avoca nor MKM had a fairytale one-day season, turning the pressure up for two-day success this weekend.
Day one of two-day cricket kicked off last Saturday and as it currently stands, MKM leads the Bulldogs by 66 runs heading into day two.
Mill was sent in to bat first and saw just 42 overs before they were bowled all out for 112.
Liam Radlof was by far the side’s best runscorer with 40 runs, with just two others reaching double digits.
Avoca’s wicket taking bonanza was led by Jason Hunt who took 4/32 followed by Nathan Holland with 3/21 and skipper Ben Morganti with 2/8.
Avoca’ reply got underway in good stead on Saturday, with the side posting 2/46 in 22 overs.
Nathan Lester currently sits on 24 not out and will take to the crease alongside Josh Morganti (12 not out) this weekend to resume the run chase.
Avoca’s best runscorer, Lachlan Morganti waits in fifth if MKM strikes early on, and later on in the order Hunt and George Norton could help the side along if needed.
After winning just one game in the short season and starting so well on day one, the Bulldogs will be eager to finish the job off this weekend to claim their first two-day match since moving up to A grade.
