Youth the focus for Rotary’s Oaks Day Luncheon

The Maryborough Highland Societyʼs Lisette Rollason, VIP guest Rick Seirer and long-time supporter of Rotary, Trina Thatcher are gearing up for Rotaryʼs annual Oaks Day Luncheon this Thursday.

Maryborough Rotary’s annual Oaks Day Luncheon is fast approaching with all funds from this year’s event going straight back into youth projects.

Held this Thursday at the Maryborough Highland Society, the luncheon is designed to bring people together for a fun event while also raising money for Rotary’s youth programs.

Maryborough Rotary fundraising committee member Alison Teese said the event promises to be a fun day out.

“There’s not many times that we get to go out and frock up. It’s a really lovely, relaxed luncheon for ladies,” she said.

Funds raised will be filtered back into Rotary’s youth programs which often instill leadership and employment skills into local students.

“The fundraising is dedicated to our youth programs. It helps us get local people to conferences, seminars and into programs,” Ms Teese said.

The luncheon will run from 12 pm to 3 pm on Thursday, November 7 and there will be competitions and sweeps held.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from Country Trends in High Street.
