A grade’s only remaining undefeated sides, Laanecoorie Dunolly and Clunes will meet this weekend in a highly anticipated clash.
After a complete overhaul during the off season, Laancoorie has coasted through the start of the one- day series, winning all four of its games by an average of 126 runs.
The only side to marginally challenge Laane was Maryborough in round three, where the Owls limited the side to 8/155 and got within 40 runs in the reply.
Laane was grateful for the bowling of Nathan Dellavedova who took 3/3 and Nikolai Charles who took 3/29 for keeping its total afloat.
Clunes has enjoyed three victories, but by much smaller margins with a 29-run win, a 10-run win and a five-wicket win so far this season.
Clunes is also yet to face Maryborough, so this weekend will be a true show of strength for last season’s runner-up one-day premiers.
