Laanecoorie Dunolly has already locked in its one-day cup placing, but that won’t stop the side from flexing its muscles against bottom of the ladder side, Avoca this weekend.
After winning just one game last season, 2017 one-day premier Laanecoorie’s plan was to return to the top ranks of the competition, and it has done just that, so far undefeated and with a guaranteed spot in the first final of the season.
Laane holds the top spot on A grade’s one-day ladder by six premiership points and is supported well by the best statistics in the competition, meaning its first placing is at no risk of changing regardless of what happens this round.
Avoca currently sits on the very bottom of the grade’s ladder, with just six premiership points, three shy of its closest competitor, Beaufort.
However the Bulldogs do have better statistics and were unlucky to miss out on a three-point advantage which was afforded to every other team in the competition due to a wash out round, as they were dealt the bye.
