Local police will soon be undertaking extensive community consultation to ensure residents feel safe in their towns and shires.
Police are aiming to create a community web of protection by directly responding to concerns community members may have about the areas they live in and Goldfields Local Area Commander
Inspector Donna Mitchell said she is keen to hear from all residents.
“We want to know from the community what makes them feel unsafe and how we can help them feel safer,” she said.
“We will build our action plan around what the community wants, rather than what we think they want.”
While consultations will get underway in the coming months, Insp Mitchell said the initiative will take place over some time to ensure police can respond to concerns and implement plans.
Insp Mitchell said times and dates for community consultation events will be released in the coming months.
