Owls favourites for Maryborough derby

Johnno Melton and his Mill team mates will be hoping for a solid result against Maryborough this weekend. He sends in the ball from out field during last roundʼs loss to Colts Phelans.

MKM is in for a massive challenge this weekend as it prepares to take on Maryborough.

The Owls breezed through their match with Avoca last weekend, defeating the Dogs by 10 wickets in just 16 overs.

Maryborough was deadly with the ball, taking Avoca at 25 overs, with Troy Hubble brandishing a very impressive 5/18.

Ben Hoban took 2/7 while Jake Postle took 1/21 and young Mick Malik took 1/18.

The side needed just two batsmen, Sam Bartlett (31*) and Brady Tranter (35*) to get the job done, pulling up stumps very early in the day.

It wasn’t the first time Hubble cleaned up at the crease for Maryborough this season, taking a massive 4/7 in round one.

Until last weekend, the side has struggled to get going with the bat as a whole, rather looking to one person to shoulder the load.
