A free information session is set to help and support Central Goldfields residents and their families who are suffering from dementia next week.
Run by Dementia Australia, the Understanding Dementia session is designed for people living with dementia and their family members.
The session will provide an overview of different types of dementia, diagnosis, planning ahead, how to support someone with dementia, and how to access services and support.
According to Dementia Australia, there are more than 3600 people living with dementia in the Mallee, which is expected to increase to an estimated 4400 by 2058 if there is no medical breakthrough.
The information session will be held at the Maryborough Highland Society on Tuesday, November 12 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
Registrations are essential and places are limited.
