The Men’s Blazers went five from five at the weekend with a nine-point defeat of the Mildura Heat.
The Mildura Hothouse was set alight on Saturday with the small- town Blazers rolling through and claiming their fifth consecutive win for season 2019/20.
It was the first time the two sides had met since last season’s finals series where the Heat prematurely snubbed out Maryborough’s grand final campaign.
The weekend’s clash was never safely in either team’s hands and Maryborough had to fight every step of the way to keep its winning streak ablaze.
Harry Butler put the Blazers on the board in the first quarter, hitting two consecutive twos, but this was quickly answered by Mildura.
Brady Neill got his season-high point scoring underway with a goal and a penalty at mid quarter.
