The Maryborough and District Triathlon Club conducted its third reverse triathlon of the 2019/20 championship season late last month from the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre.
The event involved a short and long course, with the run being conducted around the east Maryborough circuit, the cycle leg on the Majorca Road course, and the swim in the 25 metre indoor pool.
The short course involved a one kilometre run, four kilometre ride, and 200 metre swim, and the long course a two kilometre run, eight kilometre ride, and 400 metre swim.
In the open male long course it was Matthew Bartlett who surpassed his August time by over 20 seconds to complete the course in the time of 35:18 to take first place.
Barry Parsons also enjoyed the 50+ short course finishing in the impressive time of 26:45 to take line honours.
In the under 16 male short course it was the Govan brothers Riley and Jesse who both excelled across all aspects of the course.
Riley set the strong time of 24:03 to take first place with Jesse taking out second place in a time of 28:07.
In the under 16 female short course it was an outstanding contest between two young triathletes where the lead changed on many occasions.
