Maryborough’s Bella Westbrook selected to compete at the 2019 State Netball Titles

After her first season of senior netball with Maryborough, Bella Westbrook has been selected for the
Netball States titles this weekend.

While more than 150 netballers trialled for a position in the North Central Region’s 2019 netball squad, one Maryborough local rose to the top, making the cut for the 2019 State Netball Titles this weekend.

Maryborough Football Netball Club’s Bella Westbrook was named in North Central’s 17s squad as one of just 10 girls who will head to the titles this weekend.

The North Central Region spans from leagues in the Loddon Valley, Bendigo and Heathcote to leagues in Kyneton, Woodend and Castlemaine.

Westbrook was selected as an all round defender, both goal defence and goal keeper and also a wing defender if needed, off the back of her first season of senior netball with Maryborough.

Listed as a bottom-age emergency for the side last season, Westbrook said she was “over the moon” to be named as a member in the squad this year.

“I truly didn’t expect to be selected when there were so many talented players from across the region who tried out,” she said.
