Laane maintains stranglehold on ladder

Laanecoorie Dunolly’s domination has continued with another emphatic victory, defeating Beaufort by 154 runs on home turf at the weekend.

Laane went four from four with the win, maintaining a tight grip on the most prized spot on the A grade ladder.

The Crows won the toss and elected to get Laane’s potent runscoring out of the way first.

Liam Mottram and Justin Bramble opened with an 81-run partnership before Zac McLeod dismissed Bramble (45), Beaufort’s only straight wicket of the day.

Things escalated quickly with Mottram and Zac Graham taking Laane’s total to 195 before Mottram (78) was run out by opposition captain Nathan Clarke.

That was to be the end of Beaufort’s defence with Laane’s remaining overs seen out by Graham (91*) and skip Matt Smith (34*) who accumulated 81 runs together to close with a final score of 2/276.
