Community to get involved in local playground upgrade

Maryborough Community House coordinator Jeannie Clark is eager to hear the communityʼs views on what upgrades theyʼd like to see at the houseʼs playground.

Maryborough Community House will be throwing a snag or two on the barbie this Thursday as it seeks community feedback for the exciting development of its playground.

The community house received just over $50,000 in funding earlier this year from the State Government’s new Healthy Hearts initiative, designed to give communities in the Loddon Campaspe region new opportunities to get active.

Community house coordinator Jeannie Clark said part of the funding will be put towards an upgrade for the playground at the house and that the organisation is now consulting with the community on what they’d like to see at the playground.

“We’re seeking input from local residents about what they’d like to have here,” she said.

The barbecue will take place this Thursday from 1 to 3 pm at the Maryborough Community House and is free and open to the public. For more details contact the community house on 5461-4551.
