Beaufort made a massive statement to the rest of the A grade competition at the weekend with a solid win over small town rival, Avoca.
When the Crows and the Bulldogs met last season in A reserve, the Dogs came out on top every time, including in the one-day cup final.
Beaufort got its revenge on Saturday, claiming its first A grade win since returning to the grade while robbing the Bulldogs of theirs.
Beaufort won the toss and elected to bat first, but much like the week before, struck disaster with its top order batsmen collapsing early.
Shannon Brown was bowled for a duck, followed quickly by captain Nathan Clarke (4) and third, Will Sargent (2), leaving the side at 3/9.
Zac and Cam McLeod saw the side to 19 runs in partnership before Cam (3) was claimed LBW by Jason Hunt.
Lachlan Oddie and Zac McLeod added 12 together before McLeod (16) was bowled by Josh Thompson.
Oddie fell quickly after, as did his replacement Taylor Hall, with Beaufort’s total reading 7/39.
Thankfully for the Crows, Jay English was next up and with Ben Iseppi, who still remained, seeing the side out to 50 before Iseppi (10) was claimed by Lachlan Morganti.
