The Central Goldfields Historic Machinery Society is gearing up for a weekend of all things horse-powered.
President Martin Saul said while the society has been operating for about 20 years, the Central Goldfields Dunolly Rally and Tractor Pull, which gets underway this Saturday and Sunday, has been operating for less than half that time.
Mr Saul said participation in the pull has garnered interstate attraction and seemingly grows “bigger and bigger” every year.
“It’s a great location out at the old Dunolly racecourse. That’s where a lot of our antique machinery is and we’ve got room to move,” he said.
“We’re getting bigger and bigger every year. Our participation rate is always growing and we’d love the crowds to match that. It would be great for people to come out the road and have a look.
Entry for adults is $5, children under 16 are free. The event will be held at the old Dunolly racecourse on the Timor-Dunolly Road from 10 am on Saturday and Sunday.
