After expanding to Maryborough, Ballarat-based business Implexa has gone from strength to strength, taking home an award from the prestigious Ballarat Business Excellence Awards 2019 last month.
The business, which provides paediatric services including speech pathology, occupational therapy and behaviour therapy, took out the Ballarat Times News Group’s Health and Wellbeing Business Award, a particularly competitive category.
Implexa director Lorelei Wright said the awards night was a big event with around 600 people in attendance and that it was an honour to have received the award.
“It was just an honour to even be nominated as a finalist let alone winning it. It was very unexpected,” she said.
“We’re just a little company so this was definitely confirming for myself and my business partner Tamara Wighton that we are on the right track and that what we’re doing is great for Ballarat, our clientele and Maryborough.”
Ms Wright said Implexa was up against some serious contenders for the award including Spec Savers.
“It was very exciting, we were up against businesses like Spec Savers, which is a franchise, and Eureka Osteo which has been in Ballarat for quite a while,” she said.
“To enter the awards we filled in an application which is sent to a panel of judges. Three finalists are picked from that and they get site visits from two judges who then decide on an overall winner.”
