The Carisbrook Lady Redbacks are gleaming with pride after cleaning up at the 2019 AFL Goldfields Female Football Awards last month.
The Carisbrook Football Netball Club was dubbed club of the year while individual players Paige Scott, who was crowned under 18s Youth Girls league best and fairest, named in the team of the year and rookie of the year alongside team of the year recipients Monique Gavriliadis (under 18s), Misty Lee Carter (under 15s), Choney Meemusour (seniors) and Sherriden Byrne (seniors) were all recognised for a fantastic season.
Carisbrook took out the club of the year for its continued development and promotion of female football and president Phil Hooper said it’s a direct reflection of all that help keep the teams going throughout the season.
“The Carisbrook Lady Redbacks are a very valuable part of the Carisbrook Football Netball Club. The club is proud to have been recognised in this way,” he said.
“The award is recognition of not just the commitment of the playing group, which has been fantastic this season, but also a recognition of the work done by the drivers of the Lady Redbacks.
