The Maryborough and District Triathlon Club conducted its second reverse triathlon of the 2019/20 championship season on Sunday, August 11 from the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre.
The event involved a short and long course, with the run being conducted around the East Maryborough circuit, the cycle leg on the Majorca Road course, and the swim in the 25 metre indoor pool.
The short course involved a one kilometre run, four km ride, and 200 m swim, and the long course a two km run, eight km ride, and 400 m swim.
In the Open Male Long Course it was two past club champions in Matthew Bartlett and Adam Lowery who were contesting this category.
Adam produced a very strong run and swim combination, while Matthew excelled in the bike and swim combination.
In the end there was very little between the two with Matthew recording the outstanding time of 35:41 to take first place, with Adam also excelling in the time of 36:36 to take second place.
In the Open Female Long Course it was triathlon first-timer Bec Dal Nogare who produced an outstanding performance in her maiden event, finding consistent form across all triathlon disciplines to complete the course in a time of 48:22 and take out first place.
