Newstead will have to put up one hell of a fight during the next two rounds, starting against Trentham this Saturday, if it wants to maintain its top eight placing.
After a really tough 2018 which saw the Roos claim just three wins, this season has been much smoother with six wins already in the bank and two bye rounds adding a free hit of eight premiership points to their pockets and seeing them into sixth place on the ladder.
Trentham has let down its guard for the first time in two seasons, conceding three losses this year, all to quality opposition however.
The third-placed Saints are expected to reign supreme over Stead for the second time this year on Saturday, especially if their 26- goal win back in round six is anything to go by.
