Avoca travelled to Navarre hoping for a big win to end the home and away season and lock in a finals placing, but it was not to be as an undermanned Grasshoppers outfit completely outclassed the Bulldogs.
Avoca had no excuses, fielding almost a full team with a large number of players returning from injury.
It was goal-for-goal in the opening quarter with Navarre kicking three and Avoca kicking four, largely thanks to Jack Duke who nailed three in a row to see the Bulldogs lead by six points at the first break.
Navarre controlled play in the first half of the second quarter, kicking two goals through Louis Hannett and Aiden Lee who was proving a handful for the Bulldogs as he marked strongly around the ground.
Duke kicked his fourth goal at the 12 minute mark which was the first time Avoca had entered its scoring zone for the quarter.
Navarre answered through Riley Bibby and then Duke kicked his fifth a couple of minutes later.
