Maryborough was handed a good old fashioned thumping at the weekend, going down to Gisborne by 103 points.
The Pies were nothing but a percentage booster for the Bulldogs, who needed the points to maintain their second on the ladder title ahead of finals.
Maryborough kicked a disappointing one major to four behinds in the first term while Gisborne put through three of each to lead by 11 points at the quarter break.
The second term is where it got painful for the home crowd who looked on as Maryborough slotted just one behind to a massive 10 goals from the visiting Dogs.
The Pies faced a daunting second half, trailing by 76 points with another two terms to go.
Borough broke their silence in the forward line with one goal, but faulted on two other occasions.
All the while the Bulldogs were banging them through, blowing their lead out to 92 points by three quarter time.
