A momentous qualifying final clash between last year’s grand finalist teams will unfold this Saturday.
Tensions will be high when Carisbrook and reigning A grade premiers, Trentham meet at the Hedges Oval court hoping to snag a ticket straight into preliminary finals.
The Saints robbed the Redbacks of their first premiership in almost two decades during last year’s grand final, running out victorious in overtime after a draw at the end of the fourth quarter.
Things have changed for Trentham since then however, with the side conceding its first loss in more than two years during round two of this season.
The Saints have since dropped two other games with the most brutal loss coming from the Redbacks in round seven where Brook came to a 56-34 win.
Carisbrook will be eager to hand the Saints the same treatment this weekend, but the two-time grand final winners are not likely to go down without a fight.
With both teams displaying a star studded line up, there will be several impressive match ups up and down the court, but the clash between Laura Hurse and Jasmine Coleman in centre could be a highlight, especially since Coleman wasn’t present during the round seven meeting.
