Avoca will make the trip up to Navarre for the final home and away round of the season, and it is a must win game for the Bulldogs if they are to have any chance of playing finals.
There is still a mathematical chance of the Dogs making finals, but it is very unlikely as ninth placed Newstead is playing Dunolly, and will most likely win by a margin that will see the Roos gain enough percentage to tip the Bulldogs out of the top eight.
Avoca’s injury plagued season has been well documented, but it will go into this game with confidence after toppling the Grasshoppers earlier in the season.
The Hoppers have also suffered this season with injuries and a lack of availability hampering them from the success they usually enjoy, and as a result they will miss the finals for the first time in many years.
