The Ararat/ Maryborough rail line recorded a near perfect reliability rate for the month of July according to new V/Line data.
Across the board, V/Line achieved its best punctuality levels since October 2016 last month, recording 89.8 percent on-time performance across the regional network.
The data for the Maryborough line, which includes results from the Ararat line to create the Ararat/ Maryborough line, recorded a reliability rate of 99.2 percent, only a slight decrease from June’s perfect 100 percent reliability rate.
Punctuality was slightly lower, coming in at 88.9 percent for the line last month, but was an improvement from June’s 84.3 percent.
The last time a higher punctuality rate was recorded for the line was in October 2016 where
a rate of 93.4 percent was recorded. Department head of transport services Jeroen Weimar said V/Line’s two busiest lines, Ballarat and Geelong, recorded large improvements, increasing line punctuality from 88.3 to 93 percent and 90.9 to 91.6 percent respectively.
