The Maryborough Tennis Centre are $500 richer after taking out the 2019 Capilano community club cup.

In a recent special presentation at Hive and Wellness Maryborough (formally Capilano), Victorian operations manager Michael Notley, along with members of the Maryborough and District Triathlon Club (MDTC), were delighted to hand over a cheque for $500 to the MTC.

As a part of the MDTC’s 2019 Ripples on the Res fun run, the community organisation with the highest number of competitors on the day would win the cup and the donation.

After a recent domination by the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre, it was the Maryborough Tennis Centre (MTC) who motivated its members and friends to participate and take the highly contested prize.

MTC secretary Anna Bartlett said the club was “thrilled” to claim the cup.

“Our club promotes tennis as a sport for all ages, and we saw the fun run as a great opportunity for our members to participate in the event, along with their family and friends,” she said.
