Rotary club hosting movie night to help young people

The Maryborough Rotary Club are calling on locals to grab a bucket of popcorn, sit back and enjoy a movie this week, all for a good cause.

The club is hosting a screening of the film Yesterday at the Maryborough Paramount Theatre and a pre-movie dinner at Rammy Dessert Indian Restaurant this Thursday to raise money for their Defy the Drift program.

The film follows a struggling musician who wakes up in an alternate timeline where he realises he’s the only person on earth who can remember The Beatles.

Rotary president Leigh Williamson said the movie is a “good, fun sort of film” and encouraged community members to come along and enjoy the evening.

Tickets for the dinner, which are $15 and include your choice of four curries, rice and breads, are available from Country Trends and Rammy Dessert.

The movie will run from 6.45 pm. Tickets are $16 and can be purchased at the Paramount Theatre or Country Trends.
