The close clash between Newstead and Dunolly was the highlight of round 10, with all other games resulting in 20-goal plus defeats.
As the competition surpassed the halfway point, the opposite ends of the ladder met across the district, creating big wins for all but one game.
The Kangaroos claimed a win over the Eagles by just two goals.
Newstead led at every break and by a margin of six goals at both the second and three quarter time whistle.
A massive effort from Dunolly saw the side narrow the scoreline down with a 14-goal final term, but it wasn’t enough to snatch the win from the Steaders with a 43-41 victory resulting.
Newstead now sits inside the top eight while Dunolly has slipped to ninth.
The next closest result saw Maryborough Rovers concede a 20- goal loss to Carisbrook.
