Maryborough will have a tough go of it this weekend when it takes on reigning premiers, Eaglehawk for the second time this season.
The Magpies currently sit in sixth place on the ladder with a 5-6 win- loss ratio, while the fourth-placed Hawks have dropped just three games this season.
Maryborough will be looking to replicate its round three efforts against the two blues, where it shocked the competition with a 16- point loss to last year’s flag winners.
The round three game was the league’s first glimpse of Mary- borough’s vast improvement this season.
The Pies, who at that point in the season had lost to South Bendigo and barely beat bottom of the ladder side Castlemaine, sat within striking distance of the competition’s front runners for the entire match.
