In what was expected to be an Avoca victory, Royal Park caused an upset on Saturday as it completely outplayed the Bulldogs in the opening quarter to set up a 36-point win.
Leading at quarter time by 26 points, the Tigers were confident of a big win as they were dominant out of the middle with Jay Anderson on top over his opponents.
The Bulldogs went into the game minus key ruckman Rowan Andrews and the Tigers took advantage, seeming to read the ruck taps of back-up ruckman Geoffrey Jolly and giving their key forwards perfect delivery on the lead.
Avoca fought back in the second term to reduce the margin to just eight points, but it was a hard fought third quarter that saw the Tigers maintain the upper hand, taking a 16-point lead into the fourth.
A four goal to one final term saw the Tigers run out comfortable winners and are now four and four on the win/loss table.
