Magpies hopeful of return to form in clash against Bloods

Keely Hare looks to pass at the weekend.

After several disappointing results, Maryborough will be determined to regain some of its start of the season form, again taking to the court against South Bendigo this weekend.

The Magpies’ A grade netball side started 2019 with a bang, defeating the Bloods off the cuff in round one by eight goals.

The Pies went on to drop a few results against some tough competitors but picked up again in round five with a 46-44 win over Golden Square.

A draw with Kyneton in round seven proved to the rest of the league that the Magpies were not ready to concede any games they didn’t have to.

However a shattering 13-goal loss to second from the bottom of the ladder side, Strathfieldsaye on Saturday has left the Pies on unsteady ground as it now prepares to face all of the competition’s sides for the second time.
