Maryborough delegates at the Be the Change Summit Sarah Broad, Rebecca Maskell, Giselle Port and Thomas Anketell with speaker Jason Clarke.

Local leaders headed to Bendigo last month to gain valuable new leadership skills at the Be the Change Regional Leadership Summit.

Participants in this year ’s Leading Excellence Maryborough program, graduates from last year and members of the Committee for Maryborough took part in the event.

The summit, run by LEAD Loddon Murray, is designed to bring experts, key thinkers and change makers together with existing and emerging community leaders to explore the themes of change, influence and advocacy.

LEAD Loddon Murray executive officer Leah Sertori said the day was a great success.

“This year ’s summit was an outstanding success with 110 people registered for the summit and 120 for the vision of the region dinner,” she said.

“The diverse mix of people added tremendous value to the day with different perspectives and insights added to the table discussion and invaluable networking over the breaks.”

Keynote presenters Jason Clarke, Carol Fox and Becc Brooker were  joined by local leaders Jo Rasmussen, Khayshie Tilak- Ramesh, Harriet Carre-O’Shea and Milou Albrecht to share their insights and strategies to help community leaders be more effective within their communities by influencing positive change and advocating on issues important to them.
