The Maryborough and District Triathlon Club conducted its first reverse triathlon of the 2019/20 championship season at the start of the month.
The event was conducted from the Maryborough Sports and Leisure Centre and involved a short and long course, with the run being conducted around the east Maryborough circuit, the cycle leg on the Majorca Road course, and the swim in the indoor pool.
The short course involved a one kilometre run, four km ride, and 200 metre swim, and the long course a two km run, eight km ride, and 400 metre swim.
With crisp still conditions prevailing some exciting and interesting competition was always going to be in order.
In the open male long course it was two past club champions in Matthew Bartlett and Adam Lowery who were contesting this category.
Matthew displayed outstanding form across all triathlon disciplines to complete the course in the very impressive time of 34:29.
Adam also found the course to his liking, finishing with his customary strong swim leg to take second place in the strong time of 36:39.
