The local SES branch is a little better off thanks to Subway’s fundraising efforts last week.
By donating $1 per six inch and $2 per foot-long on Friday and hosting tin rattlers at the High Street traffic lights, Maryborough Subway did their bit to help out the SES with a total of $1358.70 donated.
Maryborough Subway owner Nathan Castleman said the fund- raising day was the third locally for Subway.
“We teamed up with the SES about three years ago after we heard the government were cutting back their grants we thought ‘what can we do to help the local branch?’,” he said.
“So we came up with a bit of an initiative to donate some of our proceeds for the day and also have the tin rattlers out the front here which is great.”
