Maryborough’s early voting centre officially opened its doors on the weekend, with hundreds of locals casting their vote ahead of election day this Saturday, May 18.

The early voting centre is located at the Tren Du Bourg Hall, on the corner of Neill and Campbell streets, Maryborough and will be open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm today, Tuesday, May 14, from 8.30 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, May 15, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Thursday, May 16 and 8.30 am to 6 pm on Friday, May 17.

For voters heading to the polls on Saturday, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has warned that there have been changes to polling locations across the Mallee electorate.

“Each election there are changes to polling services — occasionally services increase in certain geographical areas and at times decrease in others,” AEC state manager for Victoria, Steve Kennedy said.

“This is a careful election planning process with previous voting, population and travel trends analysed to determine voting services.”

In the region, polling places will be located in Maryborough, Carisbrook, Avoca, Dunolly, Moonambel, Talbot and Tarnagulla
