Big clash on the cards for Hawks and Roos

Loren Phelps takes a high pass during Talbotʼs round three clash with Harcourt.

Talbot and Newstead both struggled last season, but have hit the court this year with renewed confidence.

After a two-win 2018, Talbot impressed with a five goal defeat of Maryborough Rovers and backed it up in round two with a narrow nine-goal loss to Harcourt.

The Hawks weren’t as strong the following week, lucking out to Dunolly 64-36.

The difference for Talbot in round three was located in its goal ring, with Elisha Phelps who had played the two rounds before not listed.

The side missed the assistance of Phelps who generally plays within the Central Highlands league.

This strength would be handy this weekend, as the Hawks will battle against a strengthened Newstead side.

Talbot will look to coach Loren Phelps who is likely to be tough to beat in the midcourt while young Stella Roche has impressed in defence every round.
