After being snubbed at last year’s state election, Maryborough has secured an early voting centre for the upcoming federal election.
With early voting opening in capital cities yesterday, the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has announced the list of locations for early voting centres, with Maryborough securing a centre from May 11 to May 17, just ahead of the May 18 election.
The centre will be located at the Tren Du Bourg Hall, on the corner of Neill and Campbell streets, Maryborough and will be open from 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, May 11.
From 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14, from 8.30 am to 6 pm on Wednesday, May 15, 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Thursday, May 16 and 8.30 am to 6 pm on Friday, May 17.
The AEC said with a record enrolment rate of 96.8 percent it is important that all Australians enrolled now think about how and when they will cast their vote.
