Little Aths champs end summer season

Maryborough Little Athletics athletes braved the rain to take on events, including the under nine hurdles, on Sunday.

The Maryborough Little Athletics Centre (MLAC) hosted its 2019 Championship Day on Sunday, marking the end of the track and field season.

The day saw almost 100 percent of the centre’s 85 members take on events of their choosing for the final track and field competition.

Jett Purcell and Georgia Bartlett took out the boys and girls respective centre awards for the day, as a reflection of their participation and personal bests.

MLAC also hosted its AGM on Sunday, which saw the committee fill important roles within the club.

Vanessa Phillis is staying on as club president and Hayley Henderson will be taking on the role of treasurer for the next two years.

MLAC will now break and its cross country season will start up after the Easter school holidays.
