Dunolly’s Deledio Recreation Reserve could be in for a major upgrade and the reserve’s committee is calling for community input to get the ball rolling.
This Saturday, locals are encouraged to attend a community consultation day to let the Deledio Recreation Reserve Committee of Management (DRRCM) know what people most need from the facility.
The plan for the reserve’s proposed building consists of a large community area for social events such as weddings with the ability to hold meetings in a smaller area, facilities for sporting groups who wish to use the building and a community gym.
DRRCM chairperson and secretary of the Dunolly Football Netball Club, Marion Da Costa said the proposed facility is set to benefit not only the sporting groups that currently use the reserve, but their competitors and also the broader community.
“This is a community hub for everyone. It’s broader than just the sporting organisations that currently use the building, we’re hoping that it’s a place where people can socialise,” she said.
The community consultation day is this Saturday, March 23 from 10 am to 12 pm at the reserve with the purpose to find out what the district would like for the proposed upgrade.
There will be a range of activities for families on Saturday and a free barbecue lunch will be provided.
