Knights in for a battle to chase Owls’ score

The Creswick Imperials have their work cut out for them this Saturday as they enter day two of their match with Maryborough.

Day one of the round nine match saw the Owls post a score of 8/214 and leaves the Imperials on the hunt for a large score this weekend.

The likely supplier of which is leading Knights batsman Joel Antonio.

Antonio has made a total of 205 runs this season, mostly made up of a cracking innings against Laanecoorie Dunolly in round seven where he made a massive 151 runs.

Creswick is also likely to look to Liam Hepworth, who has supplied 141 runs throughout the season and Matt Antonio who has made 109.

Despite Maryborough’s impressive score, the Imperials could still be in with a chance this round especially considering they are currently ranked second for total runs made as a side.

Despite sitting in fourth place on the ladder with just three wins, Creswick has delivered with the bat in hand, having made 1253 runs this season, just 53 runs less than Maryborough, who is currently A grade’s highest scoring team.
